Seasoned leader Marius Wauchope recently joined us as Sales & Operation Manager, bringing more than two decades of hands-on experience in senior management and manufacturing to the Adelaide Hills-based business.

Marius most recently led teams in the building industry. He was State Sales Manager (SA) and National Account Manager at Adbri Masonry and served as National Operations Manager at Revolution Roofing and State Manager SA/NT at Fielders Steel Roofing.

Growing sales, safety, operational performance, customer service and profitability, and getting new facilities designed and functioning have been among the key achievements that suit Marius working with AIM.

“I have been lucky working with some great companies in the building supplies industry that grew quickly by listening to their customers to provide innovative products and services,” said Marius.

“I enjoy creating reliable and confident teams that are excited about growth and strive to meet their customers’ needs to create business success.”

Marius is overseeing the AIM Technical Sales Team that is responsible for providing advanced nutrition solutions to farms across the country. He said he’s excited about the growth opportunities for AIM and the suite of high-quality products developed by founders David Ginter and Linda Larter over several decades.

He’s been pleasantly surprised to quickly learn that “the importance of the animal’s health (above all other needs) runs deep within the business. It is a credit to Linda and David that this motivation drives the planned growth of our business.”

Born in Western Australia, Marius moved to Adelaide with his family at age 10 and completed his schooling here.

Spending time on family farms in the Mid North during shearing and harvest, he almost went in the agriculture direction. He went through high school at Urrbrae Agricultural Highschool in Adelaide but wound up studying Mechanical Engineering at university, then changing the career path to work in building industry supply businesses.

He’s had a few overseas stints too including nine months backpacking in Europe and two years living in South Africa establishing the Fielders South Africa factory.

These days Marius, wife Ronda and adult sons Callum and Angas, are proud Adelaide Hill’s dwellers. Along with dog, Scooby, they have a few acres in Aldgate and at different times of the year, varying numbers of sheep and cows, and a fluctuating chook population - depending on the local fox population.

Marius is active in the community, as President and the C grade Captain at Aldgate Cricket Club, and when not working or volunteering, he enjoys fishing, horse racing and relaxing up the river with friends.

"Marius will be invaluable in running the operations side of the business and guiding our national sales team," said AIM CEO David Ginter. He said the appointment of Marius is part of an overall rejuvenation of AIM as the business continues to grow.
